Corey Bradberry is a proud faculty member with Chicago's Second City Training Center, where he teaches with the Writing, Conservatory/Grad Revue, Improv, and Acting programs (among others). A Kennedy Center National Directing Fellow, Corey is not only a director but also a producer, playwright, performer, and designer. As Producing Artistic Director of A Theater in the Dark, his audio plays have reached listeners across the globe, picked up top prizes at the Atlanta Fringe Festival and Thornhill Theatre Festival, and been praised by the Chicago Sun-Times as "packed stem-to-stern with some of the best, most evocative writing I've heard from a theatre". Corey also received grants from both the Illinois Arts Council and the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs to write, direct, and produce his original audio play A Murder in the Court of Xanadu, based on the life of Kublai Khan. His 2021 production of Shipwrecked!: an Entertainment with Oil Lamp Theatre won BroadwayWorld Chicago Awards for "Best Director", "Best Production", "Best Play (in-person)", and multiple performance and design awards. He has Assistant Directed with major institutions including The Second City and Atlanta's Alliance Theatre. As an educator, Corey has taught at two universities and held multiple positions teaching theatre to students of all ages, backgrounds, and experiences.
