Mo Polyak got the great news while riding the school bus.
The 18-year-old student of The Second City Training Center’s Kids & Teens program was announced as one of five winners in the WhoHaha #GoPitchYourself challenge. Mo was chosen to go to L.A. and work on promo pitches for Pitch Perfect 3, directed by WhoHaha cofounder (and total “badass,” says Mo) Elizabeth Banks.
“Filming with Elizabeth was amazing,” the teen told us. “Strangely, the chillest and craziest experience of my life. I expected to be extremely nervous and tense throughout filming, but it felt so casual, like I was just screwing around and singing with one of my friends. She was really nice, kept up the conversation with me between takes, and even signed my cowbell that she used when we were done.”

Mo is headed back to L.A. later this summer to work with WhoHaha and film more material for the website, whose mission is to “shine a spotlight on funny women.” And after that? “I'm going to Columbia College in the fall to study comedy!”
Sounds like a pitch perfect plan, Mo.
Pitch Perfect 3, written by Second City alum Kay Cannon, hit theaters December 22nd.
