The Coached Ensembles program is an exciting opportunity to be cast in a four-week show run. Shows consist of 13-15-minute improv sets performed by the Ensembles. Each run is also accompanied by a faculty team that hosts the shows and concludes each show with their own set. This is a free performance opportunity for students and recent grads with no fee to audition.
HOW IT WORKS
Coached Ensembles auditions will take place once per term, and six ensembles will be cast each term and coached by one of our fantastic faculty members. The six Ensembles will be divided into two groups and will perform in staggered, four-week show runs.
Cast sizes may vary but will typically consist of 8-10 students. Ensembles will rehearse for four weeks on Friday nights before opening their show. Selected performers can expect a 6–8-week commitment in total.
HOW TO AUDITION
Auditions will be held at the Chicago Training Center. Auditions will be scheduled in 30-minute time slots, and registration is available here.
Auditions will consist of short improv scenes; you do not need to prepare anything. After registering to audition, you will receive a follow-up email leading up to the audition requesting your headshot and resume as well as your availability for rehearsals and performances. Note: Auditions are open to students who have completed at least Improv 3 or higher.
