For over 60 years, The Second City has created comedy using improvisation as a writing tool. Actors improvise ideas in rehearsal over and over until they find a funny scene. This creative process has made The Second City unique from other theaters. As a result, actors are auditioned primarily for their improv skills and not the quality of their writing. In this four-week Intro to Comedy Writing course, you will focus on finding your funny and using improvisational techniques to write comedy. If you are looking for somewhere to start on your comedy writing journey, this is the class for you.
