About the instructor: Sophie Kohn is a writer and comedian from Toronto. She was the head writer and editor of the CBC Comedy satirical website for four years, and her humour writing has also appeared in The New Yorker, McSweeney's, and Chatelaine, and well as various programs on CBC Radio and TV. Her more serious long-form writing has been featured in Hazlitt, Outpost, and The Globe and Mail, and she was a finalist at the 2018 National Magazine Awards. Sophie performs standup regularly around Toronto and produces a monthly show called Forever Jung where comics do a set and then get analyzed by a therapist. She is a graduate of Second City's conservatory program and Ryerson's School of Journalism.
