If you watched the Grammys or have ever been on the internet, then you most certainly know that rapper/humanitarian Kanye West stormed the stage after Beck’s Album of the Year win was announced.
Yes, he’s been under fire for his public disruption, but have you ever thought… maybe Kanye’s right? About everything?
Maybe we need to stop blasting him and start taking his lead. Here are a few ways we can get on Kanye’s page to start making the world a better place.
Welcome to the Kanyes
The Grammys. The Oscars. The… Kanyes. If you want people to tune in and watch an awards show, then you need to name it after the greatest artist of all time and spokesman for all things artistic. Also, according to an unscientific poll on social media, 90% of The People said they would prefer to say, “I’m going to the Kanyes” versus “I’m going to the Kids’ Choice Awards.” It just has a nice ring to it.
Sorry, Jackie Robinson West
While some say the past is the past, that’s not true when it comes to the Kanyes. If you were a past winner— of anything—and Kanye didn’t agree (talking to you, T. Swift and 2014’s Nobel Prize in Physics winner Shuji Nakamura), then your award will be retroactively taken away from you and given to whomever Kanye approves of.
It’s already in effect. Sorry, JRW. That Little League trophy is Beyoncé’s now.
The Yeezy Tax
Going forward, there will be a government-instituted Kanye tax that will be deducted from all paychecks as well as on each in-store purchase regardless if it has anything to do with Kanye. The only tax-exempt item will be his upcoming adidas Originals line, Yeezy 750 Boost.
The United States of Kanye
I pledge allegiance to the Yeezy, and The United States of Kanye, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, under Kanye, indivisible with liberty and justice for all. Except Beck.
Which Leads Us To…
Regardless of your religious preference or beliefs, God equals Kanye. He tried to tell us in his song “I Am a God” and when he posed as Jesus on the cover of Rolling Stone, but for some reason, no one listened. He literally put it out there and told us, but we didn’t believe him.
Now we do. So at the next big awards ceremony, expect to hear a lot of “I’d like to thank Kanye.”
