There’s a new music steaming service in town, and it’s one that’s completely artist-owned. Powerhouse artists and award winners like Jack White, Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Daft Punk, Chris Martin, Madonna, Kanye West and Jay Z came forward to start riding the TIDAL wave, and here’s why you should, too.
Fashionably Priced
While other services like Spotify, Rdio and Pandora are giving their music away for FREE via “freemium” business models, TIDAL is only available at a premium. You can pay to play via a $9.99 monthly subscription for low-grade audio, or go more fancy and get the $240 annual subscription for HD-quality audio.
In other words, while your friends are rocking the equivalent of Lilly Pulitzer for Target, you’ll be boasting the basically-the-same-but-more-expensive regular Lilly Pulizter.
High-Quality Sound
With TIDAL, you’re getting unfiltered, unadulterated, loss-less 1411 KBPS Hi-Fi audio quality. That’s 821 KBPS more than Spotify, which currently offers a laughable VORBIS 320 KBS. iTunes does not even compete with a measly AAC 256 KBPS!
Sure, only your dog can hear the difference— but your dog really, really loves Jason Aldean's Exclusive Party Playlist (which is ONLY available on TIDAL, baby.)
Fair Artist Compensation
Stop losing sleep worrying if your favorite artists not getting the compensation they deserve. When you pay the $19.99 monthly rate (twice as much as Spotify's), artists receive twice the amount of royalties. Double the price and you get double the royalties! It’s basic math, and it’s the best way to let the artists know you’re a diehard fan.
All customer service for the company will all be outsourced at low cost in sound-proof sweatshops overseas.
Taylor Swift
Taylor left Spotify in November. Coincidentally, she revealed the news in a cryptic message that only her super fans and Da Vinci Code enthusiasts could unravel.
“Cause we (Tidal) never go out of style / We (Tidal) never go out of style /I am Tidal Swift.”
