Improv, Acting
James Whittington is an improvisation and theatre teacher and director. For more than 22 years, he's educated hundreds of young performers and business professionals and directed dozens of critically acclaimed productions. He's a faculty member for the training center of the Second City, where he teaches in the improvisation, comedy writing, and acting departments. James is also an instructor for the student-run Improv Club at the Kellog School of Business, where, for the last five years, he has helped MBA students use improvisation as a tool to develop their collaboration, communication and creativity skills. James Whittington is a graduate of the Directing Program at the Second City and holds a bachelor's degree in theatre and directing from the University of Florida. He has also studied and performed at several of Chicago's prestigious institutions, including the Second City, the iO Theatre and the Annoyance Theatre.
