Second City Training Center students got an epic shock-erooni Wednesday night when they attended an advance screening of the new comedy I Feel Pretty at the Davis Theater on Chicago’s north side.
After sipping on sparkling rosé and Moscow Mules and during the ladies’ night pre-party, students were welcomed into the theater by She the People performers Carisa Barreca and Kimberly Michelle Vaughn, who hyped up the crowd with a classic combo of good vibes and free stuff. (Thanks, SoulCycle!)
And then? The evening’s secret VIP guests crashed the party: film stars and frequent Instagram cohorts, Amy Schumer and Aidy Bryant.
Just before taking a giant group selfie, Schumer explained to the pumped-up audience that it was the first time they would be seeing the movie together.
It was a full-circle moment for Bryant. Before landing on SNL in 2012, she moved to Chicago to study at Columbia College and The Second City, joining the company for two resident stage revues. She shared that the Davis Theater was one of her favorite places to watch a movie and let the audience know how incredibly excited she was to be there.
A million thanks to @AmySchumer, @AidyBryant and @STXEnt.
